Kaylee giggled as she ran along the shore, squealing in joy whenever the waves surged forward and over her feet as she played on the beach. She had lived her whole life on the shores of Alola’s Akala island and almost every day she would come out as the sun set to collect shells and watch some of the Pokémon play on the shore. Several Wingull screeched as the flew around overhead and a Wailord could be seen far off in the distance breaching the water’s surface. “Wow” Kaylee said, brushing her hair out of her eyes as she watched the massive Pokémon surge out of the water. The evening sunlight glistened off the water on the Wailord’s skin, making almost glow as it rose out of the water and its cry could be heard even from the shore. It blew water from its blowhole as it cried out again before crashing down into the water, disappearing back into the ocean. However, the Pokémon’s size caused a massive splash, resulting in several huge waves heading towards the shore. They were some of the biggest waves Kaylee had ever seen and she yelped and ran away from the ocean as the waves headed for the shoreline.
Once she believed she was safe she watched in awe as the waves crashed onto shore, washing up all sorts of things from the ocean. There were seashells, trash, seaweed, and even several Pokémon washed up on the shore! Kaylee rushed to aid the Pokémon displaced by the wave, tossing Magikarp back into the sea, easing several WishiWashi into the shallows, and helping a Corsola and pair of Shellos back into a tide pool. However, as she looked around to see if there were any Pokémon left in trouble she noticed the group of Wingull from earlier had landed and were fighting over something small and purple that rested on the sand. She ran over, waving her arms as she yelled, “Get away! Shoo!”. The Wingull screeched and flew away, leaving what Kaylee now recognized as a purple starfish. “You poor thing” she said as she picked up the starfish and gently held it as she ran her fingers over the starfish’s bumpy exterior. It was unlike any starfish she had seen before, it was dark purple and had small, dull spines all over it. It felt incredibly scratchy as its legs moved around her hand, occasionally wrapped around her fingers. She looked inquisitively before the starfish tensed up and she felt something wet and sticky shoot out onto her hand. She screamed and threw the animal back into the ocean before looking to her hand. It was now covered in purplish ichor and she poked it with her finger, giving a look of disgust before her expression turning to one of fear. The ooze made any part of her that touched it numb and it almost seemed to be fusing into her skin, spreading throughout her hands before spreading up her arms. As her arms quickly turned purple, going numb as well as Kaylee let out a cry for help.
She watched in shock as her entire body turned people and after her legs had gone numb she had collapsed into the sand, blacking out shortly after. As she laid unconscious on the beach she was unaware of the changes to her body. Her arms and legs shrunk and almost seemed to retract into her body, which grew smaller and more bottom heavy. Her hair meanwhile turned a light blue and grew incredibly long, longer than her body, and clumped into large, thick, tentacle-like appendages. From these tentacles spikes grew from their tips along with spikes growing at various points on other parts of the tendrils. The top of her head turned the same shade of purple as her body and a small yellow growth poked out of the very center, forming what almost looked like a little crown. Lastly were the changes to her face; her eyes, once a sea-green, became a bright yellow and her teeth changed into small fangs, with a few of them sticking out from the corners of her mouth. Once her transformation was complete Kaylee slowly began to regain consciousness.
As she slowly regained awareness the first thing that came to her was the realization that she no longer had arms or legs she could move! She called out for someone but all that came out was a, “Maaaaaa!” She whimpered and looked around and smiled as she saw a couple coming over towards her. “Aw look honey, a Mareanie washed up on shore. You have to help it!” “I don’t think I can, they’re very dangerous Pokémon to handle. Those spines are full of toxins” “Oh come on babe!” the woman urged and the man eventually caved. He sighed as he walked up to Kaylee and knelt next to her, “It’s alright little one, I’m not going to hurt you” he said and reached out towards her. She got nervous, “Nie!” she whimpered and her tentacles moved to protect her, forming a spine-covered shield in front of her. “Whoa!” the man said and fell backwards into the sand. “You’re rushing her!” the woman said and slowly approached Kaylee, “It’s alright, we’re going to get you somewhere safer” she assured Kaylee, who lowered her tendrils and looked up at the woman with her large yellow eyes, “Mareanie?” she chirped and the woman smiled, slowly picking her up and taking her further out into the water. “Don’t worry little Mareanie” she said softly, “let the current carry you home”. Soon Kaylee was placed in the cool water, slowly sinking down as the woman smiled and waved as the current carried the girl out to sea.
The further she got the deeper Kaylee sank into she was slowly sinking down into a coral reef, gasping as she saw all sorts of Pokemon swimming and living around her. Eventually she settled down in a crevice between two large coral formations, smiling as she watched schools of Luvdisc and WishiWashi swim overhead while several Corsola played around in the coral around her. ‘I could get used to this’ Kaylee thought to herself as she got comfortable in her new home.
A TF story where a young girl gets transformed into a Mareanie, a new Poison/Water - type pokemon that is making its debut in the new Pokemon games: Sun and Moon. I love its design alongside its evolution: Toxapex, though it probably won't make my team as there are alreday two other water-types planned for it. Personally it's one of those pokemon I'd rather have IRL than in the games BUT I DIGRESS I am a dummy! I hope y'all enjoy the story :)
